Canyon/Caving trip

With the lack of water and the need for me to get out and enjoy a bit of leave I have I'm going to be running an abseiling day trip probably down a cave/canyon in southern tasmania.

I will update this post with more information as I round out the planning process for the trip but at this state the plan will be to meet at the sheds at 08:00 and drive south to the Hastings Cave/Ida Bay area.

The trip will require participants to be comfortable with and have experiance in abseiling and also be ok dealing with confined spaces. Spots will be limited due to the nature of the trip and the limited gear.

All participants will need at least 2 head torches with spare batteries as well as lots of warm clothes that you don't mind getting wet and muddy. I reckon a cave is probably the most likely option at this stage.

If there is a bunch of people who want to join in but who don't want to abseil or squeeze through constrictions we could have a second party walk in to the cave through an easier entrance. It's a pretty cool spot and makes for a nice day walk.

I may already be in the area as I am planning on leaving friday to scout out a couple of canyons but I will confirm plans closer to the date.
