About the trip
This trip needs no introduction! It is one of the most powerful and aweinspiring rivers in Tasmania. This trip will take you through 8 days of the most stunning wilderness and wild whitewater in Tas!Â
The plan will be to start very early one morning, drive up to the Collingwood bridge where we will put on, arriving at our first campsite on the Franklin that evening. A number of days later; we will either exit via Mt McCall (4 days), Sir John Falls (6 days) or Heritage Landing (7 days).
There are no confirmed dates at this stage; however, a period from the 09/12 - 22/12 is currently being considered.
This trip is not for the uninitiated; due to it's length and risk I would expect every participant to be experianced  in packrafting and comfortable swimming in whitewater. Confidence in grade 3 and exposure to grade 4 is expected.
All the gear (except for sleeping gear) can be provided by the club. More precise details will be posted closer to the date. This trip is estimated to cost $900AUD and has a non-refundable deposit of $450 that is to be paid upon acceptance. This trip will only have a total of 6 avaliable spots; preference will be given to more active members.Â
Signing up is an expression of interest. Final signups will be accepted up until the 30th of September with sucessful applicants contacted soon after.Â
