About the trip

AYOOOOO cuties - miss seeing you all in wetsuits :(((

turns out i really miss y'all and also I want a weekend away with no phone connection.

The plan is:

Thursday 28th - leave hobart and DRIVE up to the mersey, stay in accom

Friday 29th - packrafting on the mersey (possibly other river - release dependant // lower section???) (eat cake & sing)

Saturday 30th - rafts on the mersey

Sunday 31st - rafts on the mersey 3pm pack up head home.

sounds to me like a very full trailer! Hoping to keep this trip on the smaller side with 15-20 of us. Looking to stay in the arm river camp because you all know i'm a sucker for bunk beds and listening to everyone snore all night. Arm river also has a kitchen, toilets and showers - keeping spirits up as the mersey in august can be a very cold affair!!

This is a great opportunity to ask Ruth/Ben/Janina/Josh/others to teach you how to guide a boat, to get through some club beers, to lose at 500 on repeat all weekend, and to generally have a whole lot of fun on one of our favourite grade 2/3 rivers. Should be a very chill fun weekend.

I understand not everyone will be able to come up on the Thursday night, and we shall discuss a group leaving friday arvo/ evening. PLEASE comment on your sign up which bit of the trip you're keen for an if you're coming from outside hobart let us know!

The mersey is traditionally cold - so PLEASE, bring a set of thermals to chuck on under your wetsuit.

Otherwise, you'll need some camping, we will be sleeping in the bunkhouse, which has bunks and matresses but bring a pillow and sleepingbag set up. Other than that, there is a kitchen at the accom but the reliability of pots and pans can be random at best, so i would reccommend bringing everything you need! there is a fridge though, so welcome to bring your milk for weetbix. feel free to message me with questions on facebook about it and i can help ya out.

Be aware that the accom is $15.50 a night for each adult with fuel more like ~$50 each.

More details to come early august - just a little place holder for now.
